Alexis Varouxakis is a producer and film executive. He has produced and executive produced a number of award-winning feature films including the Palme d’Or Nominated ‘Good Time’ starring Robert Pattison, ‘Pimp’ executive produced by Oscar Winner Lee Daniels, ‘Run The Tide’ starring Taylor Lautner, the Raindance Nominated ‘Dark Hearts’ and ‘Lost in Love’ starring Mathew Modine.
As well as an independent producer, Alexis is the Chief Operating Officer of 1821 Media Group, a prolific film financing and film production company and the Head of Production of the Hercules Film Fund.
1821 Media and Hercules’ select credits include ‘American Made’ (Tom Cruise/Doug Liman), Sundance selected ‘I am Mother’ (Hillary Swank), Lionsgate’s ‘The Spy who Dumped me’ (Mila Kunis/Kate McKinnon) and Paul Feig’s ‘A Simple Favor’ (Blake Lively/Anna Kendrick), the Natalie Portman led ‘Jane Got a Gun’, Paul Weitz’s Golden Globe Nominated ‘Grandma’ and ‘Swing Vote’ (Kevin Costner). 1821 Media has a number of films in development at Warner Bros., Walt Disney and Lionsgate. The Company has TV and Graphic Novel divisions having notably published the New York Times Best Selling graphic novel ‘Romeo and Juliet: The War’ which was co-created by Stan Lee.
Prior to focusing on the film industry, Alexis helped to launch and establish FreeSeas,inc. a NASDAQ listed shipping company, successfully co-leading it to reach a market capitalization of $150 million.
Alexis holds a Master’s Degree (MA) in Arts Management and a Bachelor (BSc) in Economics from London’s City University.
